HI and thanks.....
Im putting the wiper arm control arms back in my 88. They have been out of the car for years, and only got around to painting, and reinstalling...These are the arms that connect to the motor under the screen mesh. I didnt seperate them from each other, only the motor, and the 2 end pieces. I figured it would be a one way only install, but im not sure. I 'assume' i disconnected the arms from the motor with them in 'park', but im not sure.
Anyone have a diagram that shows them? Or what position the arm on the motor is when they are in 'park'?
Also, there are 2 wires under the motor. Can i put power to them to make sure they will work? The car has no wire harness yet. And it does have delay, dont know if that will matter.
Sorry for the needed help from the service manual i should own. But in my defense, this is almost the last factory engineering left on the car.
If someone could look through the screen under the windshield, and tell me what position the arm of the windshield wiper motor is facing with the wiper arms in 'park', that would be really helpfull....
Have I been black listed or something? I used to be able to post a question and have way too many answers lol...Hope someone can help....Thanks everyone!!!
Yes, it's totally logical that you removed the wiper arms with the motor in the PARK position. Doesn't it go back together with the same logic? The arm on the wiper motor should be horizontal, and pointed at the left (driver) side of the car, when it's in the PARK position.
Problem is, the pass side arm can go both ways, that was the biggest question. Hard to explain, but the inside of the arm can be on top, or below, and it seems like it would work.
