It is true what they say about old Corvettes. Just replaced the EGR valve(what a pain in the ***!) and cleaned the throttle body. Everything went back together fine. Started the car idle at 8000 and no check engine light. Gave it some gas and the throttle stuck and would not return to idle. I turned the car off and checked to make sure throttle cable and cruise cable hooked up correctly and they were. I manualy opened and released the throttle and it worked fine. Turned the car on gave it some gas and it stuck again. Can anyone offer some ideas?
Thanks
check the brake booster line. since it is in the back, I sometimes forget that it's finger tight or just started, and it raises the idle about 200-300 RPM when it's loose.
Are you sure what they say about old corvettes isn't what they say about the owners? .......couple of screws loose? nut behind the wheel is loose? Cranky and finicky?
a pain to deal with? more trouble than it's worth? falling apart at the seams? not enough memory in the 'ol computer? take your pick..........

Check the screw of the hose clamp that connects the flexible air coupler to the throttle body. My throttle lever got caught on it and it jammed at WOT. I moved the screw over to the passenger side so it couldn't happen again.

Thanks for the info. The throttle lever moves freely by hand when the engine is off. It sticks when the engine is on. I do not see anything physically jamming it.
if you had the plenum off...AND the EGR valve...thats 2 great ways to have a helluva air leak and thats whats going on.
EGR bolts tight with a gasket & some sealer? ALl the plenum bolts in and tight? Throttle body bolts?
Look to see if a gasket slipped out while positioning the plenum...happens all the time.
Get the engine to idle again (if it will) and use the propane torch to blow a little gas around all the gaskets and see if something reacts. Safer than ether since its not wet and its not so explosive.

Thanks for the info. I did have a helluva time getting the plenum off. Had to hit it a few times with a rubber hammer to loosen it from the gaskets. I will check it when I get home and report back.
