Default LCD display

I'm sure this has been covered but I can't get anywhere with the search. My LCD gauges on my 93 have stopped working. It was giving crazy readings for a while showing all 8's then flashing different numbers and Friday it just went to the orange background. I'm sure this is a common thing and it's in the LCD because both the speedometer and gas gauge quit.
Where should I start?

Grounds...

Check the ground connections near the bell housing.

Also remove the display bezel and unplug and plug the connect to the display.

It may just be dirty and not making a good connection.

Thanks, I figured it would be ground or connection. I've looked before but didn't see how to get the bezel out. Are there hidden screws or clips?

I had the same problem. I removed the ECM and cleaned all connections and reassembled with dielectric grease. no more issues.
