Default Throttle Body Return Spring?

I have 1986 with a rebuilt 52mm throttle body. My problem is that the accelerator pedal is a little hard to push down. The car runs perfect, idles great, all cables are adjusted correctly. Is there a way to adjust the spring. I don't want to start messing around with it and then the car runs bad.

thanks....

The spring is wound onto the throttle shaft and can't be adjusted. When all cables are disconnected for the throttlebody, is it hard to open the throttlebody by hand. Usually, a problem like yours is due to a cable binding somewhere unless the shaft is worn and the butterflies are binding within the bores.

My 87 had similar situation. I used spray dry lube on the throttle body shafts spring all of it. It does dry to a white powder so you have to wipe it up. Also took the spray tube and cramed it up the cable housing and shot some in there. Did the same up under the dash to try and get some in the cable from the other end.
It did help get the stickyness out of mine.

Have you considered that the blades might be getting stuck in the bores? There is an adjustment screw in the throttlebody that you can turn in to keep the blades from closing too much and sticking in the bores. Worth a try. Or consider you may have got a bad rebuild. Bores that aren't true will cause blades to stick.

While moving it manualy it is really easy to move and it is visualy obvious that the spring is bad

The bushing wear out

Which can also lead to leaks

It didn't.....I couldn't figure out why it was so tight. I sold it and bought another TB. This one works fine.
