A freind in Hawaii has the service low speed sensor light on, he doesn't get an opportunity to air it out very often due the roads and traffic there. Will disconnecting the battery reset the code or does it need to be serviced? I did a search for this topic and wasn't able to locate any information, thanks for the help.

I have never heard of the "low speed sensor", let alone a warning light for it  . Are you sure that's correct? The closest thing I can think of is the "Service LTPWS" light, which is for the low tire pressure warning system. That light will illuminate if a wheel speed sensor is faulty.
Disconnecting the battery will clear the warning light, but it will come on again when the car is started/driven the next time. The best way to clear codes is to fix the problem!
There is one inside each wheel. They tell you if the air pressure in the tire is low. They transmit back to a receiver. Not sure on where that receiver is as my 90 does not have the system.
Just happened to have an idea. Has your friend checked his tire pressures?
The "Service LTPWS" light comes on when there is a problem with the system - not when there is low tire pressure. Usually, there is a problem with one of the sensors mounted on the wheels inside the tires.
The battery does not need to be disconnected to reset this. Every time the ignition is turned off, it resets and then will reappear if the problem has not been fixed - usually about three miles after resuming driving.
If there is a bad sensor, diagnosis can be as easy as reducing tire pressure by ten pounds in each tire, one at a time, and driving the car to test the sensor. If the sensor is good, the "Low Tire Pressure Warning" light will come on. Reinflate the tire and move on to the next one.
If all four sensors are bad (or removed) the "Service LTPWS" light will no longer light. I need three new sensors for my Vette. Until I locate three used units, I removed the "Service LTPWS" light.
Tom. the tire pressure is good, He emailed me and the manual says the light will come on if you drive at low speed at lot. He rarely get a chance to go over 50mph. Most of the driving there is around 30mph. Not sure if this is the problem though.
Rich, I'll send him you comments maybe one has gone bad.
