Just started work on my new 93. 1st thing i did was pull the shade out, dont know why i felt i had to do that. I mean it wasnt bothering anybody in there! Now it wont retract back in.Any suggestions on what to try? Dave

Is the carpet preventing it from retracting?

You may have to take it out to see if the retractor is broken.

ditto on my 92, cant tell you what i did because it was years ago, but i was able to remove it from car and rewind it. some trim has to come off. it works just like an old fashion window blind.

I had a similar problem, I was able to get it retracted by pulling it out and trying to force a little back in. Over and over. Kind of like an old window blind that hasn't been used much. I think hotter weather also seemed to help. Maybe take a hair dryer to the assembly for a while?
