Default Wtf are these wires ??

On my newly purchased 1993 LT1 I found some heavy guage wires (#12) under my passenger side injector cover that taped up and not being used. They obviously were not part of the stock wiring. I traced them around and down under the body where they went up into the floor of the driver side. From there one was spliced to a 12v source and the other 2 went to a foot operated hi/Lo beam switch screwed to the floor?? Does anyone have a clue as to what this set up was meant to do?
I removed the whole installation.

Thanks
