ABSOLUTELY ! !
Do not waste your time or money on a carpet kit without the mass-back. There are MANY kits that do not have the moulded sections that help fit exactly, and some that are much cheaper without the mass back. That backing stops heat, LOADS or road noise, and its maintains the shape/fit of the carpet since its stiff and not prone to folding or wrinkling like a single layer carpet. Mass back cost more, but its worth every penny !
