Heater AC Control Doesn't Work...Do I need to replace?
My heater a/c control unit has stopped working. I have a '90 vette with the digital reading on the heater ac unit. Nothing appears on the display and nothing turns on (ac, heat, defog, etc). Do I need to replace the unit? or is there a simple fix?
You'll want to either get a test light or use a meter to measure whether you are indeed getting power across the fuse, instead of relying strictly upon visual inspection of the fuse (just to cover the bases).
You need to determine whether or not you're getting power to the unit, so eliminate the obvious first by checking the fuses. Also, I don't know if this is the case for a '90, but on my '96 the radio and courtesy fuses also are related to operation of the control unit in the dash. Check those fuses as well. I believe I read that in the Owner's Manual, I think.
If you're getting power to the fuses, then check for power at the plug of the control unit. If you have power supplied to the control unit at that point, then I'd suspect a faulty control unit...
