I was told by a mechanic that i should replace the burn off sensor and something else i can't remeber if i get a new MAF for my 86. If i get a new one shouldnt that come with that stuff?
maybe he meant the burnoff relay. There's a burnoff relay that provides switching and power for the burnoff circuit within the MAF. It's only a few bucks.
As for the MAF, I'd look into getting a Wells SU 145. It's a different design than the bosch, and in addition to being substantially more reliable and having a lifetime warranty, it flows more air and costs a lot less. Do a search on thirdgen.org for it and you'll find the address to a place in buffalo NY that sells them for $165. I bought from them and it came in a couple days.
I didn't replace anything when I replaced my MAF, but since I replaced the MAF my water pump and transmission went out. Now I wish I'd replaced the MAF relays.
