I am leaning towards this cam or one very close. Reason being I want my rpm range to reach 5500. I have a hypertech coil and ported my intake manifold as well as gasket matched for max air flow. I am using SLP runners and doing the same to them. Bought them off a joker from Corvette Forum who claimed they were both ported. I was so pissed off when I saw what he claimed to be ported. *******. He took me for $330. So I am paying $200 to a friend who will put 8hrs into this job. I am hoping and he is not an idiot by any means to get max air flow. My main concern with whatever cam I choose is chip issues. I talked to Wongs Performance and he told me send him my factory chip and ALL SPECS and details of my build. He will mail it back to me for $200 modified. Wong told me the idle will be the only issue with a cam close to the specs of this comp cam. I hope to gain 30-35HP from the new cam. I hope to gain 15-20HP from the air intake porting and runners. I hope to gain 20HP from the long tube headers and Flowmaster exhaust system. All in all my goal is to get 300-330HP at the crank. I am having a roller rocker kit put in the motor as well as reduced pulley set. I think that is about it ? Oh and a adjustable fuel regulator A/C Delco. Am I on the right track here ? Or am I way off ?

 

Sounds like youre on the right path to making gains.
As you learned, never buy "ported" parts. Most dont know what they are doing or how much is involved to truly get gains. I can have 30-40 hrs into a TPI system easy and costs...
