IDEL WHEN I START UP IS LIKE 1400 FOR THE FIRST 12 MIN. OR ABOUT 170 DEGREES. THEN ISIT AND HIT THE BRAKE OR TURN THE AIR AND PUT THE CAR IN GEAR AND KEEP FOLING AROUND UNTIL IT FINLEY DROPS TO 700RPM. THIS IS A PAIN IN THE A@@. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO STOP THIS PROBLEM????? PLUMBERH2O. :smash: :smash: :smash:
If you grab the throttle body shaft/plate where the throttle cable attaches, can you wiggle it back and forth enough to see the shaft move in the TB bore? Can you make it click loudly by doing this? If so, the bore is worn and the butterflies may be hanging up and holding the idle too high.
And please don't scream. There are children in this Forum. :nono:
Check for vacuum leaks in the plenum/runners, and the above suggestions.
I would say ignore it! I mean it goes away after a few minutes when the car gets warm doesn't sound like too big a problem.
I would still scan the computer and check the TPS.
Check the action of the throttle cable on the TB. You might have your butterflys sticking open until the car warms.
