Lt1 air injection question

Default Lt1 air injection question

on a 92 the air check valves on the exhaust manifold if you remove the air hose is exhaust suppose to come out do they flow one way i blow towards the manifold valve out flows air the other way no but connected motor running exhaust comes out is that correct questions can i plug them shut?

The air from the AIR pump should be able to flow in, so if you disconnect the hose at the diverter valve and blow, it should flow to the exhaust. But if you disconnect at the exhaust and blow, it should not flow back to the diverter valve.

I wasn't sure if you said that air does or doesn't flow the other way when you checked your system.

And, yes, you can plug them shut, but your catayltic converter will take longer to reach operating temperature, obviously. Hope this helps... :chevy

thanks i dont have converters. If i take out the hose exhaust flows out
