T-stats are cheap. I always put them in a pot on the stove and verify they open before use, new or not. Sorry to hear you are having problems again.

You'll get it..

When you Back flush the radiator pack some rags around the garden hose when you shove it inside the radiator out-let tube connection, and give it a good blast. Keep the inlet hose connection (left upper) down low so gravity will assist.

Question; When you start the car Cold how quickly does the Steam pipe heat up? (Head cross over tube)

Pulled the radiator. Found little deposits of red silicone when i used water hose on radiator.Must have came from water pump gasket when i installed it Only got three decent size pieces out. Must be more in there and i must have moved them aeound, cause the temp continues to rise and i cant drive anywhere. The bottom rad hose is cold and fullnof air, i did bleed the system. Thinking about taking rad out and putting my second one in. Quess ill have to take my wifes c6 tomorrow to work

OK.. It's possible that there are chunks wedged inside of your Cross tubes blocking flow.

What shape is #2 Radiator in, why did you replace it?

I replaced it thinking it my rad that was causing my overhearing issues a few montjs ago, when really it was the bars leak stuff.

So over the past week, ive put old radiator in, didnt seem to help at all. Did some coolant flushing and it ran good for a day. Came home one morning from it overhearing twice in a matter of hours, noticed the bottomnrad hose was cold, went inside took to clean up from pt, went back outside and took the t stat out. Have had it out for past 4 days, havent had any issues since, just takes a while to get to operating temp

It constantly gets lower, depending on outside temp. Other day i was in town driving at 166, hit highway for about five min, temp dropped to 149, granted its n its 40s outside. Highest it gets at idle was 185-190
