Im still waiting for my new 93 to get back from the shop. One thing i noticed when i was having new tires put on was there is a wedge shaped space between the radiator and the a/c condensor that seems to attract leaves and pine tags? Is there a trick to cleaning that area out safely? I looked for other threads on this but no luck. Dave
I found the only way to properly clean it out, remove the radiator. You won't believe what you will find. When the car is done, you will notice it will run cooler.
Mine had crushed pack of cigarettes, leaves and anything else that was in the street. Before re-installing, wash out the area, lot of dirt.
Have fun.....
NOTE: Please don't try use air compressor to clean the area, you might do damage.
Not sure what you are saying? Is this to keep stuff out or remove it? Im new to this but learning.
I'm the one who misread the original question. Best way is to move either the radiator or the condensor out of the way. Take the upper shroud off and separate the two parts and vacuum with a thin nozzle. If the op is taking the radiator out, all the better.
This is what i did to my 85. I cut a sheet that slid down in front of the air filter and upper radiator baffle between X frame down to the lower baffle. crappy mobile pics but you get the idea
There is a lot of airflow around the sides and top of the a/c condenser, then all the leaves and garbage our cars suck in gets deposited in front of the radiator. Vettes should have reduced registration costs as they clean the roads where ever they go !!!
