Power steering rack has been leaking for months, really bad. I get out of the car after a long drive and watch smoke boil out from underneath where it's burning on the exhaust... really embarrassing!! I go through a quart of PS fluid in no time. Now I'm replacing the rack, pump (because the fluid ran low so many times), and all hoses. After spending this kind of time and money I want to put in a good quality fluid so these parts last a long time. What do you guys suggest?? Thanks in advance!! :flag

GM cold climate semi synthetic PS fluid. If you can find a better one I would like to know because it's expensive. If you need the part number I can get it, but means getting up! Bought mine from Jeff Koop.

1. Disconnect the return hose and flush out the system.
2. Use a turkey baster or Miti-Vac to suck out all the fluid in the reservoir and replace with fresh fluid. Move wheels from stop to stop and repeat until fluid is clear. This is the method I perfer. Harder to break anything.
