Razor will usually take care of any problems with a stubborn hose, and prevent damage to the sometimes plastic hose connector on the radiator.

OH! If you are trying to save the hose it's harder when it's stuck.
I use a huge flatblade screwdriver and work around the hose carefully at about 60* angles. Then try carefully twisting and repeat until loose. Usually takes quite a few passes to get it loose, but beware you can damage the radiator so go slow.
Finally when you get fed up you slice the sucker with the razor and put the new hose on. :D

I have found that you can jack the entire car up and lay on your back, or if you take of the passenger tire you can reach in that way and get a good angle without laying on your back......

Take a hair dryer and point it right on the hose for about 5 minutes. One good twist and you'll have the hose off.
I just did that to all the hoses I needed to remove to replace the water pump. All of them were stuck on tight until I heated them up with the dryer.

I only had one hose that remained stuck after hitting them with the wife's 1500 Watt dryer. That one popped free once I broke the seal with a flat bladed screwdriver.

If your hoses are more than a few years old, go ahead and replace them. Too much of a pita to have to do a second time. :cheers:

well I finally gave up! But i did get the coolant changed, I don't know if this will lower my temperatures but next time I will slice these frigging hoses then clean the radiator then replace with new hoses! I would also like to know if anyone has removed their radiator in 15 minutes like the tech tip said? I'm no mechanic and don't have many tools, but this job is a pain in the ****!

The tech tip is accurate for a pre-90 L-98. In 90 and up the radiator position and shroud changed, I hear there are some difficult bolts to get out.
