So I gotta pal that found an '84 sitting in the woods behind some folks house. Now they want to sell it because they sold the land it's sitting on. Forget all the legal ramifications as he is a retired cop and all that stuff will be resolved prior to the purchase. Supposidly it ran prior to being parked. Don't know the mileage, transmission etc. Few details available. He offered the guy a g-note just because he figured he could do something with it to at least recoup his investment. He has skills, more importantly, has friends that have huge skills. Anything is possible. The question is...., he wants me to come look at it tomorrow. What are a couple of salient issues concerning an '84? He's going to have it flatbeded out, so no issues with trying to start it or anything. Thoughts?
I can not answer your questions but am quite sure that the g-note is but a down payment. You did not say how long it has been sitting, depending he is looking at tires, interior, dash, trans, brakes, bearings and paint to bring it up to reasonable standards. Oh, I forgot weatherstrip.
unless its really nice Id part it out and pay as little as possible.
or just pass for the hassle involved sounds like its too late for that
Could make a fun track car

Pics or even a description of the interior, exterior, and motor compartment would help. ALL fluids should be changed, gas, oil, coolant, rear, steering, brakes, and transmission. Possibly fuel pump and filter.. Etc. etc.
That's the part that would scare me off! Probably has squirrels living in it!

I'm going to head up there this morning and take a look. I'll try to post some pics later today. Hmmm..., track car, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the comments.
