Interior Lights Issue
My first issue was a buzzing relay under the glove box and the door interior lights wouldn't turn on. Found out that we had a bad fuse and replaced it took care of the buzzing relay and was able to turn on the interior lights by the head lamp switch.
Now that this is fixed the interior lights won't go on when either door is open. Could it still be a bad relay or a bad switch on one of the doors?
This is on a 1993 convertible.
it provides 12 volts for the following items via
a Orange wire.
RH, LH Door Courtesy bulbs.
RH, LH Footwell bulbs.
Dash Glove compartment bulb.
Rear view mirror Courtesy bulbs.
Courtesy lamp relay.
Center Console glove compartment bulb.
To verify if either Door Ajar switch works,
turn ignition On and open either door.
The Door Ajar indicator light in the dash cluster
should light.
To eliminate the Courtesy Lamp Relay.
At the very front edge under the passenger side
dash where you heard the buzzing noise are a group of
5 relays.
Two relays are grouped together towards the passengers
door. Then there are 3 relays towards the transmission
tunnel.
The 2nd relay from the passsengers door is the Courtesy
Lamp Relay. The relay closest to the passenger side door
is the Fog Lamp relay. You can swap those around and see
if that cures the problem.. All 5 relays are the same.
From right to left relays look like this.
Fog Lamp-Courtesy lamp-------- Fuel pump-Horn-Rear Defogger relay
Good luck
