While you are in there call Doug Rippie Motorsports and get the high pressure power steering line and replace it.
When I did my return line hoses I left the metal line that goes under the balancer. Just used the right sixe fuel line IIRC. I double clamped it, didn't need to, however my car spends a lot of time at WOT and I don't want to spill fluid all over the race track.
They showed me that hose but it isnt the right size to join the 2 pipes it has to be 3/4in. Its just a 4 or 6 in hose with clamps. I think the pipe that goes under the crank pulley may have been part of a recall way back when? Anyway the hose you are refering to wont join these 2. How did you know i live 4 miles from Kilmarnock? The wonders of the internet,im just an old dinosar!
Seems like I do remember seeing where there was a second design of this hose to brace the metal part better to keep it from breaking.
4 miles? I didn't have you located THAT close. Your profile says you are in Weems VA. I plugged the Weems zip code into the Advance store locator and came up with Kilmarnock 3.5 miles from Weems.
Do you have an O'Reillys nearby? Some of their stores make up custom hydraulic hoses and would probably have the correct hose material.
No OReillys in the area. Gemplers has 3/4 inch fuel line that looks heavy enough. Its the return line so it cant be much pressure? Or do i need to go with something that will handle more pressure like a hydraulic hose? Dave
Ok looks like this week end its going to rain so fishing is out! I have 90% of parts ready to go. 1 question would you press pulley on now or when the pump is bolted to motor? I know there are holes/slots in the pulley but i dont know if i can get a socket through them? It was easy to pull the pulley off pump while it was on motor but i wonder how hard it will be to press it on the pump attached to motor? Dave

If you use the tool you can put the pully on real easy with the power steering pump on the car. The holes in the pulley allow you to reach any of the bolts behind it.
Ok sounds like a plan now just waiting on a few more parts i ordered and i start. The power steering pulley tool i got from Amazon its a KD tools 41560 and it was 38.00. I think it was well worth it. Dave
