Still trying to track down why my 3rd tail light won't work. Have replaced the switch, all bulbs are good. Have taken off the interior of the halo to check the ground. Connected to the wiring of the light, inside of the halo, is a two wired vented black box approximately 3/4" x 2". Terrible discription of it, but does anyone know what this thing is or does. 1988,35th.anni. Thanks
Have you done any troubleshooting or did you just replace parts on a guess? When you say you have replaced the switch are you talking the brake switch or the light switch?
First, do you get 12 V at the light sockets when the brake switch is turned on?
Do you get the lights to work by running 12V directly to the light sockets, bypassing the black box?
If they work, then the ground is good. If not, fix the ground or the sockets.
Do you get 12V going to the black box when the lights are supposed to be on? If not, check the circuit going to the black box. Unfortunately, I have a 1992 so I do not know what the black box is.

Is there a lt blue wire in and 2 lt blue out? It's maybe a protector for the "splice" that continues to the ABS module. There's a lt blue wire IF it's like a '90MY from the SLS to the CHMSL through 2 splices. Does your camera NOT work?
