That's a very "clever" pointer you've got there!! I believe with the proper flare nut wrench you could be OK.
You just need the correct size and I don't recall it. It would be good to have a set of these. They're very handy.

Hi there. Easy enough to replace the hose with the damaged fitting with a new one, ( it takes a brave man to show accidental damage on this forum 
) i can understand the shipping as i go thru the same here in Australia. I wonder where all the steering racks go when the cars are converted to right hand drive here, they have mirror image racks made here for the purpose so maybe they get shipped back to USA.
You can rebuild the rack easy enough as long as you have access to parts and the original rack is in good enough condition to rebuild.
Just make sure you clean the reservoir and power steering pump also
