Default trans question

I have noticed that the transmission shifts funny, when cold it will hold first gear to about 3k rpm's then shift hard into second. holds second for too long too but not as hard of a shift. when the road is wet it will break traction on the shift to 2nd with any kind of throttle. What could that problem be? I adjusted the TV cable according to the FSM and it didn't help anything.

The car is a '93 btw

I'd say you need to go back and loosen the TV cable and see if that helps any.

If not,. look at the fluid. If its old and dirty it may be causing the servo to stick. Could be filter/fluid time.
Rule of thumb for the Tv is OD upshift at or around 55 mph with soft throttle. Soft upshift.

the shift from 3-4 is smooth, the tc locks up as it should, the od shift happens around 55 as it should. i just got the car, it has 100k miles. no idea when the trans was done.. if it was done.. already have plans to do fluid and filter
