Okay thanks to all who provided feedback re: my digital display problems. It was the connection in the dash. I want to ask, are rattling brakes (or the slight movement of the calipers) common in C4's? On my 93 I have replaced the pads and rotors and the rattling is driving me crazy.......The brakes work fine, but they rattle like something is loose....... Any suggestions?
There are 2 metal clips on each caliper that rests between the calipers and the mounting brackets... these actually clip on the pads. Without these you will have movement in the caliper and hear a clunking sound when applying the brakes at a slow speed.
the caliper retaining pins should also be replaced when doing brakes.. these can get flat spots on them also.
Here is a picture of the clips... you can thank Glock 94 for the original pic.. i just stole it and high-lighted the clips. :)
Thanks for the response....... i was able to have a local tire shop tackle this problem and they indicated that the bracket where the pads sit were warped. They narrowed them (i think that what they said), and everything is as quiet as a church mouse..........
