I have noticed on my '93 coupe that unless I roll down the passenger window before closing door that it will contact the body of the car. It is the back corner at the top of the window. With the window all the way up I can rock the window a bit front to back. Is this the regulator or something else? I have pulled the door pa el to look but I can't see anything obviously wrong.
my 96 has the same problem. i was told there is an adjustment inside that can be made to correct this. my window goes up i feel past where it should stop. the front of the window goes up a bit too high which pushes out the back top corner.
Read the DIY Window Guides post in the General Discussion section. My 93 was having similar problems with windows hitting B-Pillars and I replaced the broken plastic guides with new ones. Problem solved.
Order the new guides before you take the door panel off because you don't want to remove and reinstall the door panels more than you have to. I got the guides from Corvette Central. About $26 each if I remember correctly.

The side windows can go out of whack if the stop bracket (called door window guide in the fsm) in the door has come loose, the top of the side window gets tilted inwards by this bracket so you may notice it sticks a couple of inches away from the body. You need to remove the door trim and locate the stop bracket bolts, they are located around six inches to a foot from the door latch. The top bolt will be closer to the end of the door they are on a slight angle.
Note it is a tricky process to get it just right as it will determine how high your window goes, and how far in the top of the window tilts in.
If the window guide bracket it is too high the window will go too high and go away from the roof weatherstrip. If the bracket is down to far the window will tilt in excessively and or not go up enough. see pic of bracket location (i have the later window regulator fitted in my 85 and it uses the same guide) The FSM just sais adjust glass as necessary at glass guide stops, anti rattle cushions regulator bolts top of door and saddle to glass.
As yours has just come loose the glass guide (circled) just needs adjustment, its a trial and error thing takes a few goes but fairly easy as you understand how the guide with two upside down horseshoe shapes ''capture'' the side regulator.
Also, make sure your door hinges do not have play in them. This is what was causing my window to hit. The door had a good bit of sag in it. I fixed both the upper and lower ones on the drivers side for less than 10 bucks via Doorman GM Door Hinge rebuild kit.
I went out to car with fsm in hand, door panel is off and the front guide/stop is broken. How do you get in to the bolt? Have to remove the plate the inside handle sits on?
