Need some help or advise. Is it possible to have the drive belt tensioner mounted wrong? Changing the belt on the 92 and wasn't paying much attention on how the old belt was routed cause there's plenty of diagrams. Well, trying to install I have to rotate it clockwise to release pressure which is just opposite of what the routing diagrams show. Tried every way to run the belt but it's not working out. Had to step back and take a breather so here I am.
I don't see anything on that page that looks like my 92.
I don't know if it's even possible to mount it wrong but even if it were upside down it should still rotate clockwise to relieve tension. Did you replace it or take it off?
OK I see you are rotating it clockwise, that's correct. I bit you are trying to go under the lower pulley on the drivers side. Just a guess because I always make the same mistake. You need to route it above that pulley and under the tensioner pulley so the belt goes through the same small space twice (back to back). I hope that makes sense.

It's the right belt, ribbed on both sides. None of the diagrams posted are the same configuration. It has an idler and the tensioner and they seem to run awful close together. Gonna look real close tomorrow, but the way the tensioner rotates and being that close to the idler, it's like the idler is on upside down if that's even possible. I've installed the belt just like the diagram on the radiator shroud and the Idler doesn't even touch the belt. Just doesn't make sense.
