I hope someone can help me with this. My OD switch has 2 black leads to a 2 prong female connector... can anyone tell me the wire color coding to the matching male connector and where those wires run to (dash harness/ecm/trans harness)?I know an OD on light is somehow part of this... Color code of the wires to the on light?I've looked at the diagrams but can't find them in the harness nor the male connector(may have been cut off by mistake as part of a harness cleanup(this is a race car).So if i can find where they came from/color codes...I may be able to put things back. Pictures of the connectors/harness would be very helpful! Its an 85 harness.

Thanks Bagman
If I remember right, those wires go to the ECM, and tell it whether or not its warm enough, or has been driven long enough to allow the overdrive function to work. Some guys just twist those wires together, and you can use your overdrive function anytime. h
I've done the ecm bypass in which c8 and a7 at the ecm are connected... I believe there is a Blk/lt blue wire from c7 to the od switch which goes into the harness but i dont know where it comes out. I eliminated all other wires to the center console which probably carried the od wiring.Maybe some knows where the console harness comes out of the behind dash harness?
If it is a race car,
Scenario 1.
use the two wires to make a holding circuit using a relay and the clutch pedal switch as an interrupt switch for the holding circuit.
Just run the energize wire to the output of the relay, and the interrupt part of the circuit gets routed through the normally closed part of the clutch pedal switch which turns off the power to the input to the relay coil which effectively drops out the overdrive.
Scenario 2
Use a separate rocker switch located in a convenient place to energize the engage relay, so that to determine when the overdrive is selected on, you can just feel for it, or add a light to the dash that comes on when the overdrive is selected.
I just used a regular 15 amp relay that auto zone sells, and a rocker switch. When I come to a stop, I usually have , from habit, dropped my hand to the overdrive switch, and turned it off.
Be sure to use the first gear lockout switch on the trans side cover to keep from burning up the overdrive.
If you really want the computer to pick when the EPA will approve of your best gas mileage during a race, wire it up like the factory did.

i will use a conveniently located rocker switch, I just need to connect it to the existing circuit correctly... there is existing wire for the OD on light...just need to find them. Thanks for your ideas!
