Way cool!

 

Ok, I received the vehicle back from Vette Doctors. Initially, I was told it was just a drain plug. So the money set aside, I replaced the rotors, pads, Bilstein Shocks, had all the fluids flushed and fans tested. All worked fine. Unfortunately for me, the radiator developed a leak while running on a cold day at their shop. So, with additional funds (wife not so fond), I ordered the Dewitt radiator and had it installed. It is impressively large, I do not find the temperature change to be dramatic. The car was running 194 on the main road/highway. It was hovering at about 197 after picked up, I dont know why I was hoping for the 180's !!. Its running fine at stops rising in temp, then lowering after driven. I drove it for about 30 miles with no issues, I thought maybe in 30 degree weather it would be cooler.I know he replaced with a 180 thermostat (which was already in there prior so no change). Its been flushed refilled and bled. Does it take a while for the radiator and or computer to adjust with more runs? I have not driven since its return because of the weather. Overall, Dennis was very good there at Vette Doctors. They were very reasonable and did a clean job. No complaints. Happy I went there for the work. Lets see how it holds. Thank You Tom Dewitt for the comments. The radiator taken out was thoroughly inspected with no ballooning present at all the way you stated to examine for. Looks like a cheap Ac/delco from Rock auto from some unknown sub-contractor. It failed near the aluminum crimp on the plastic tank. Thanks again, weatherstripping and targa top replacement is the next project.
