Have you got a old ( very ,very old ) laptop with a LTP1 (printer ) port to connect the cable to.
Never seen anyone get Diacom to work using the various port adapter available.
If you do then PM me your email address , may be able o help you out
Vetteoz is right, you need a old DOS based laptop with LPT1 printer port. That's the hardest part today. The software itself works great with very few communication problems if you have old laptop. There are two version of Diacom-( Diacom and Diacom Plus). The lastest software version that I have seen is V2.85.
91007 was for 82 and up--(90-92 TPI systems)
91006 was for 86-89 TPI systems
91003 was to go from laptop LPT1 printer port to 91007 or 91006

Is a shame they never used the serial port then you would have a work around to use it on a later laptop.
I use it on multiple cars because of easy of setup but playback the datalogs in Datamaster with it's far superior GUI
Allows graphing of up to four inputs against each other to see what is happening instead of trying to diagnose from a stream of running numbers
Diacom has to be run under DOS. You have to BOOT into DOS to use it. You can't boot into Windows and then run it in a CMD prompt window because it uses its own driver for the parallel port and Windows installs a driver, which can't overwrite.
It has to use the parallel port because it does some tricky manipulation of the various inputs and outputs to do the communication.
My understanding is that the guy who wrote Diacom died several years ago. When I bought Diacom in 2000 the guy at Rinda told me he and the author had a disagreement and the author refused to update the program. That's why it's still at that ancient version.
This whole situation sucks because I run Diacom on an ancient Compaq Presario laptop and the battery is shot and only lasts a couple minutes. I have to use an inverter in the cigarette lighter to make it work. I really don't want to invest in a new battery (again).

I have it running direct from XP and Win 98 no probs
It is a complete standalone pkg ,I don't see any drivers it installs .
Actually out of interest I just fired it up on Win 7 now and it ran fine ; albeit my state of the art
desktop computer doesn't have the correct port but it went looking for the cable
