I know some of you have your doubts about this ProComp Optispark. I think if it were a product with a lot of defects it would be all over the internet. I'm sure every brand of opti (even GM) has its failures. Just saying! We do not manufacture the ProComp
Optispark, and are just a dealer for them. If we determine that they are not reliable or are of poor quality we will discontinue selling them.

I would give 'em a try if I hadn't already installed a different brand last summer. The super expensive dynaspark was a real nightmare. As happens with a lot of newly acquired businesses, the new owners of dynaspark started putting in lower quality parts and the product sucked big time. I guess that is the way of business acquisitions - folks buy an established business that has a good service record with a good following and proceed to put in cheaper parts to widen the profit margin while raking in the money. I have seen it happen many times. (rant off).

I hope your opti proves reliable. I plan on keeping my LT4 for many more years and will, undoubtedly, need another opti at some point in time.

I have a question, I own a '96 LT1 but it's a B-Body not a Y-Body.
Since you are a dealer do you have a demo model that is apart you could post pics of, so we can see what kinda parts are in this product ?

What i am getting at is the most common deal is the optical sensor is not up to par as the main culprit when not going OEM. You go over 4500 RPM and they like to give up the ghost...

Thank you for your time.

thanx,
to let the secret outa the bag, was looking for the Mitsubishi logo on the opti-sensor.
that's what's on an OEM opti on a B-Body.

all the countless failures ultimately show the part had a low quality sensor that could not handle high RPM's.

The pic's in your link are nice but i could not make out any logo stamped into the plastic.
So... I wonder if anyone who bought one is willing to chime in and say how many miles on theirs and how high they have taken the RPM's with this product ?

Christian, do the B D F and Y body LT1's all use the same opti ?
I would think you would make a KILLING selling these on the impalassforum.com ???

Good Luck with your business.

Hi ALF,
There is no markings on the sensor that we took a part.
We have been running one of these Opti's on a 97 z28 that was
super Charged. Shifted at 6600 rpm with no issues. We have remove the SC and are installing a rear mount Turbo now. I believe all the Opti's are the same other than vented or non vented.
Thank you,
Christian

Did you know: The name "Corvette" was borrowed from a line of small, fast navy ships used in World War II.
