Default Need help ..Climate control problem

We are looking at a 96 coupe with only 30k miles. Car was not garaged, and does need some cosmetics. There is a problem with the climate control. When you engage the air conditioning, cold air only comes out the defroster vents. If this means tearing apart the dash..I'll keep looking. This is the automatic climate control, not manual type. Any help is appreciated.

Its ether your C68 programer located under your dash just above the gas pedal or a vacuum problem normally the vacuum valve located by your distributor. Check to see if you cruse control works, if not its most likely the valve.

If it's the infamous controller vacuum connector issue, there are a couple of threads that highlight the issue.

I had the same issue with mine, and ended up pulling out the control box from under the dash, bypassing the vacuum connector completely (with additional tubing and individual connectors). Once I eliminated the faulty rubber connector all vacuum routing works flawlessly now.

It's a pain to get the controller out and reinstalling it (not impossible, but take your time and use patience).

I ended up pulling my controller and found the rubber manifold that connects the relays together inside looked like it was chewed by a mouse, I pieced it back together and it works.
