I know nothing about nitrous but am wondering if anyone makes a turnkey kit that includes everything needed. I have an LT4 with about 50K miles on it. I am thinking about a 100 shot. If no complete kit exists, does anyone have the manufacturers and part numbers for what is needed, including ignition controls, window switch, system, etc
Many speed shops will install a kit "turn key" for you. Usually installation will run $250 for the base kits and then just add additional $ for the additional compoments depending on what you get.
My suggestion is the NX Base kit, Gen II add-on, MSD Digital 6 (retards timing), a Mallory window switch, NGK or Autolite spark plugs (1 - 2 stages cooler than stock), and a Walbro GSS307 or GSS340 intank replacement fuel pump. Should cover everything you need other than the NItrous refill. Best thing to do when you get the kit is to pill it for 50 for the first couple of times you hit the juice. That gets you used to how it works before pilling up. Next thing to do is to take the 150 pills that come in the kit and put them in the trash. Otherwise, you will be inclined to try them and generally bad things are more likely to happen on a bigger shot.
Thanks for the information. I really would like to do the install myself. Anyone have any experience with the NOS fogger system. I am talking about the one that puts an adaptor for fuel and Nitrous in the injector hole and then you put your injector in it?
If you are going for cool factor, the direct port is there. For just a 100 shot, it is not really worth the initial investment IMO. However, if you were planning on going to a larger shot, I would say go for it.
2 yrs ago, Agostino installed my NX system with every safety features, inluding installed inline and intank fuel pump, Pod gauges N2O/fuel guage MSD digital 6 box , make custom tray for the bottle because I don't them to drill holes thru the carpret and my car is convertible and tuned on dyno, cost $1900 USD

ZEX (purple bottle) summit sales this product. cheaper alternative but the max output is 125hp at this point. It comes with a "Nitrious Management" in one box (about the size of an MSD box) this contains solenoid, electric trottle switch, and nitrous manifold.
This unit is activated at WOT just like the normal NX unit with a TPS(trottle position switch)
I have a buddy with a mustang who has this unit( sharp and very well performing unit)
Only issue you may out-grow it fast, but if you have a stock bottom-end then this may be the unit for you... price. LT1 Summit $637.95
Thanks to all who have replied. I am still investigating but will probably do this before the summer is out. Anyone else have info on a good set up for the LT1/4. I am assuming that any setup described for the LT1 would work for the LT4, is that correct?
i hate to sounds like an idiot but ive never heard of a "turnkey system" for nos. can anyone tell me what it is and how is different than a regular system? thanks
Basically, the term "turn-key" is used to refer to a solution that has no labor involved by the owner party and you basically drop it off and pick it up and all you have to do is to "turn the key" and it is done.
ex. Heads and cam pacages can be purchased outright for the owner to install him/herself. But they are also available in a "turn-key" package that includes installation.
I think in this post, the poster meant a complete solution in one package, not necessarilly "turn-key" by definition.
In the most strict sense I guess you would might be correct. My request was for a turn key solution to my problem. My problem being I want to buy a complete kit, with all necessary components to effect the addition of N2O to my vehicle. My reference was to this request. I don't believe labor is a necessary part of a turn key solution.
