Installed an MSD digital 6. ASR code is now glowing????
My newly installed MSD digital 6 box is throwing a "Service ASR light" If I disconnect the quick harness from the coil to the MSD and reconnect the factory harness (back to original setup without MSD) all is fine. Had anyone had this issue with an MSD box on the LT!
I thought that it could be that the dials were set incorrectly.
1. 8 cylinder = 2
2. Step Retard- two dails labled "1 degree" both set to 9(.9 and 9)
3.RPM Two Step Rev Limit- two dials labled 1000's and 100's = One is for 1000's and the other is for 100's; e.g., to set 2800 RPM, set one at 2 (1000's) and the other at 8 (100's) = 2800.
4 RPM MAX Rev Limit- two dials= 1000's and 100's = Same as #3.

you need to disconnect your tach filter. Its in front of your water pump. This happened to me the same thing. Black box 1" long x 2/4 wide.

It's over on the passenger side,...at the front of the valve cover, just above the coil. Little black box that comes out of the wiring harness there. Two white wires and one black going into it. Cut the two white, and splice them together coming out of the harness.

OK guys last question: Where do you set all your dials??? I thought since I have a 2800 stall to set the "RPM two step" on 2800??? THe max at 6000??? and the RETARDS (.1 and 1 )at .9 and 9
IS this correct. It felt smooth when I drove it but not as responsive??? maybe my setting are off??????????

you don't need to use the 2 step . Unless you do a lot track run with trans brake. At least that what Nick at Agostino Racing told me. You should retard 4-5 degree for your nitrous with 100hp shot.

Thanks Bruce. You actually lead me to the problem. No one else seemed to know what was happpening (the other help came from HighPSI).
I could not believe that since I see soooo many guys out here with LT1's who claim to have MSD digital 6's ???? It seems like they did not have this issue :confused: Or they just did not hook up the box or notice that little "Tach filter" change that the machanic did???
