I'm just curious if anyone has changed their 'vette over from Mass Air Flow to the Speed Density system? What parts would I need to accomplish this change? Any other tips on how to do it? I'm thinking the benefits on my car may be well worth the change. Any info is appreciated! THANKS!
You will need a new ECM, best to give a call to 18carfan (Jeff Kopp) to get it. Im not sure of what else youll need besides the sensor and tubing to replace the MAF.
It does not cost that much. You need to buy an ECM part number 1227730. You will also need to go to the junk yard and cut the plugs. There are three plugs on the 7730 ECM. You will only need the yellow one but you might as well take all three. You will need to "re-populate" the three connectors with the corresponding existing wires. I did a direct re-pin and not the adapter route. You also need a MAP sensor and MAP plug plus a new knock sensor and V8 speed density prom. It costs less than $200.00 I would think.
