i had a friend read the check engine light on my 96 LT1. He said it was showing P1416 and it said see service manual. He turned the light off but it came back on the same day. Does anyone know what this code is?

My '96 just threw this code this morning, for the first time since I've had it. Thanks for the link, I'll try the throttle body cleaner and compressed air route and see if that works.
I learned something new, in that a P1415 indicates the driver's side valve malfunction and a P1416 indicates the passenger side.
That's what I like about this forum, it's a wealth of great information!

You can get a new one for $17 or $18. I paid $17 something. It's takes about 20 minutes from start to finish. Very simple on the 96 since both are easy to get to and these have no hoses made on them. I tried for 2 weeks to unstick mine. Wish i had of just replaced it in the first place since it is so easy.

Good to know, thanks. I'll add them to my To-Do list (among the many other little things to address). Actually, when I cleared the code it never came back, but eventually I'll replace them (now that I know they're not critical to operating the engine).
