Just starting to shop and im looking for suggestions. Must work with a convertible. Bolt in would be nice, and I realize I would probably have to weld plates in to bolt too. Again, just looking around now and wanting to see what others are using.
Yes, I was thinking of going 4 point for that reason. Actually, looking at the rules for my local track, (if it reopens) they only require a 4 point bar for 7.99 and quicker. Here is a link to the rules. http://olddominionspeedway.com/OD_Dragstrip_Rules.html I am sending a e-mail to the next local track to see what they require. But Im at the point where they are going to require a bar of some type, but I really don't want to butcher up my car for the bar. If a bolt in would work that would be sweet so I could return it to stock latter.
Check out EXOTIC MUSCLE. In the mid 90's I purchased one of their roll bars designed for a convertible. This was a bolt in unit that didn't destroy the rear "storage cover". There were no others available. Keep in mind, although done by others you MAY have to comply with SPECIFIC rules which make it impossible to put up the top on the Vette depending on how tall you are. AT THE TIME I believe the requirement called for the top of the roll bar to be 3 inches above the top of the drivers helmet. I may be mistaken on that point. Good Luck.
I used their kit to start my car. Very good product and fit very well.
Can you tell me if it was a bolt in bar or did it have to be welded in? Also, does the main support for the hoop? go down beside the seats to the floor, or does it mount behind the seats on the shelf? Thanks!!

If my local tracks will let me use this style it looks very promising. I have seen pictures of bars where the deck lid has been notched to clear the rear support bars. I could pick up another deck lid and notch it and save my deck lid. I have read where the support needs to be higher to pass inspections at some tracks.
But again, im waiting on responses from e-mails sent to a couple local tracks.
Thanks for your input.

Last I heard, they had both a bolt-in and weld-in option. Since my car is dedicated track, I opted for the weld your own. I'm sure you can get exactly what you need. You could go 4-point or 6-point with a halo.
The main hoop mounts behind the seats on the shelf.
