Right now my car is completely stock. I'm getting EM longtubes on there pretty soon though, and I'll be getting rid of the cats, AIR, and probably EGR as well. I was thinking of just having pcmforless send me a chip, but for future mods I'd like to learn to tune my own car. Is that possible with the '92 computer or will I need a '93 and up PCM?
Here is a link to a very good tutorial that will help get you started; http://ltxtech.com/forums/showthread...RT-V5-Tutorial
Both the 92 and 93 are speed density fuel injection, 94 and on up is Mass airflow, very different in the way the computer works. 92 & 93 cars use VE tables to adjust the fueling while the newer models use the VE tables as a form of back up and read from actual air flow from the MAF. You should be fine with the stock tune and your new headers, it can learn to a certain extent changes like that. If you end up removing the AIR and the EGR then you can switch those off by moving their rpm function way up to 7000rpm so they in effect never come on.
I do plan on removing all emissions stuff, thats why i thought i would a tune. I dont want the check engine light coming on obviously. I figure i could squeeze out a few extra hp with a tune as well, if i do it right
