code 28 or yet another opti post??
Leaving it for 90 minutes, the car drove home 40m no dramas.
Back at the exhaust shop, we can see the leads have been scorched by the headers, so we replace those, and the mechanic finds a connection locvated under the ASR module that wasn't re connected. I drive out of there with no codes & a smile on my dial......30 mins later on the highway home, the car sputters, goes into bronco riding mode and dies when I slow down. It now does this everytime after about 30 mins driving. I have taken it to the shop (chev isn't sold down under), and now code 28 reappears. He has replaced an opti on a previous car & doesn't want to touch it until he can clear up code 28.
Would code 28 cause this ? or have any affect on the engine. Is it likely to be the opti that causes the problem to appear after 30 min enginne time? The engine hasn't been wet, the waterpump doesn't appear to be leaking & the car doesn't overheat
 :(
