Anyone know how much the rear hatch glass weighs on a C4 Just tryin to lighten up the car a little. I know Melrose T Tops sells a lightweight lexan one. I also removed the front headlights and used just the covers i'm sure it cutdown on some weight. THANKS Pipe
C4 rear glass is all the same I would say 65# shipping weight is 125# the protection has to be a good amount of weight
if you have a early c4 aluminium heads you will drop 50#ish
Pull the spare tire 35# ish. I made aluminum brackets to replace the steel. A pound. Drop down rim & tire size

Thanks for the reply Admiral I got alot of the stuff out allready cruise control, fan blower motor and AC condensor ,spare tire and carrier. The headlights but can put them back on for cruise night and car shows. I could be like the guy's in the 60s and get a hole saw and go to town Pipe
I took my front bumper off and removed all the supports and crap inside the bumper. Removed an honest 20 lbs. Wouldn't recommend it for a street car. Not needed for the dragstrip (hopefully).

Maybe replace the hood first, they weigh a ton
Take a couple of people to lift so a carbon fiber one would be nice Much bigger weight saving than the rear hatch by far. try disconnecting the gas strut and lifting the hood.
