Screwed Motor Part 2
Here is a galled cam bearing. The top half is galled. This is cam bearing #3. The eye shaped part is where the babbit has worn off.
Here is cam bearing 4. Its probably nothing but shell left. Its now a new rotating part of the block.

Here is bearing 5 in perfect condition.
Here are a couple valves complete with wear marks that are not centered. Have no idea what caused this. These are from crane roller tip rockers.
Here is a piston with a discolored spot on the skirt. This occurred on several but not all cylinders. I think the bore may have been too tight but I don't know.
Finally we have the flywheel with lots of hot spots caused by stupid Atlas van lines truck driver who back the car out of the truck with the parking brake on !!!!. Some spots are actually just dust because the clutch was resting on it before I took the picture. The pressure plate looks similar.
I am off to the machine shop tomorrow to find out what if any of these parts can be reused including the block. I may need new guides and have the valve stems cut. The crank needs polishing too.
:cry

Good luck getting it back on the road. :(
Attempt 1: Block from Ebay. Grinding material not properly removed by me and block decked by moron. I had never had a block decked so I did not know the surface was too rough.
Attempt 2: Block bored to .060. Cam bearings installed wrong. Noticed they were tight but no time take back to shop figured (incorrectly) would be okay.
I think the block is cursed. I think its probably toast since one cam bearing is spinning.
