Default 2.0 turns versus 2.25 ????

Just in the midst of changing my stering rack.

Have noticed that my old rack was 2.25 turns (regular rack) and the rebuilt that i have is 2.0 turns lock to lock...... is it going to be a noticeable difference??? i guess the rebuild must be a Z51 rack.......

Any comments, concerns??????

VERY noticeable. When I drive a non-z51 car it is amazing how much difference it makes. It takes very little effort for my to change lanes etc.

I love it. It might take a little getting used to being used to the 2.25 rack.

The tight ratio came with my Z-52 option too and it's great.

I think it realy makes it feel like a "Vette".

Definitely! I swapped my standard rack for the Z51 R&P a year and a half ago. It took a little while to get used to but it is much more fun to drive on a road course or autocross now.

Hmm. wonder how I could tell which I have? I don't have the Z51 option but can say it takes very little movement to make the car turn. I can make it bounce between the lines on the road with hardley moving the steering wheel. This is the only vette that I've driven.

I noticed a BIIIG difference between a normal steering gear, and a Z51/2 steering gear. I BEARLY have to move my steering wheel to make a lane change, and it's EASY to pitch it.

upon the suggestion of Bill Reid, i got the Z51 rack and all i can say is.....
Nice Rack! but it is noticable....it seems a little stiffer when turning and takes very little effort!!!
so...no problems/complaints here
