Default C6 gauges in a C4?

Ok so I am hoping somebody here has an answer for me. I am working on a bit of a strange project. I am hoping to put a C6 gauge cluster in a C4. I have been researching on how to do this and have found little to no info. I know the bcm and ecu are instrumental in some of the gauge functions but is it possible to at least get basic gauge functions out of the cluster without too much trouble? I dont really care about the info center or whatever that little bar is called, I just love the backlit gauges and am tired of the good ole digital dash from the knight rider days (loved knight rider when I was a kid, but its a new millenium lol). Here is the tricky or maybe less tricky part. The engine is being replaced by a built carbed 327. I have not purchased any sending units/sensors yet having not decided what gauges I am going with. Any help with this would be amazing!!!! P.S. Before anyone gets to asking me why I am doing all this, the C4 donor I purchased was seriously abused and nearly stripped. I have it halfway back together and decided to make some things the way I like them. I have hot F.I. cars but miss the sounds of a good old carb fed 327, and since there was so little of the car left it would have cost a small mint to return it to original everything, which to me an 85 is just not worth as wonderful as they are!!

If the C6 dash is driven from the PCM /CCM then they are probably going to want inputs your simple carb engine can't supply

Time to get the circuit diagrams from a C6 and see what drives the cluster

Well I have to some extent, I found pinouts for all the connections on the bcm, which was not very helpful. From what I have read the fsm MAY have the info, most people say it uses canbus info from the ecu. That just put me into unfamiliar waters lol.

I'm looking at this as well...

I have a '92 ZR-1 body which I intend to shoehorn an LS7 into...and I'm looking to go a bit further than just the cluster. I intend to put the HUD in as well.

It'll be a track car...

I can't even start thinking about researching it until I get the Z06 donor car, and depending on the year it will make a difference as to what the wiring diagram looks like.

That sounds like an awesome project, I would think yours would be easier than my situation but still somewhat similar. If you're running the ls7 ecu then I would think you could use the bcm from that as well and it should work. I want to do the hud as well but im starting with the cluster. I do have the diagrams from the bcm if that would help you at all. From what I can see it controls everything down to the windows, lights, alarm, hatch release, EVERYTHING. There is a company that will alter (delete) stuff from the bcm if it is unused however. Its hard to even begin to figure this all out without the parts in my hands but I really don't want to drop $4-500 if I cant use it.

I think you will find the LS BCM is not going to work without the LS
PCM. This is however just a guess, you are better of asking this in the C6 forum.

Yeah no doubt it would require pcm and bcm, which probably would just be a waste for me but 1991 might be able to do that since he will want both of those anyway. Perhaps the mod will move this to c6, I wondered about that.

I don't think that you can, I've heard of people hard wiring them into the C5 but that was still an LS series motor and I think there might have been some signal issues.
As for the HUD... The cheap answer is to just down load the app on your phone and put it on the dash while you're driving. The expensive answer is like previous poster said and buy a LS7 and get the wiring harness so you can have a pretty easy plug and play... Actually kind of curious on that build. If you do do it let me know as I may have some better ideas for you.
