HELP! I am a first time owner of a 1994 vette and now I can't get it started. I have had trouble with it for a while now but it will not start at all now. I cleaned the key, I have changed the cylinder, I have changed the ignition switch, and I even changed the PCM because that's what a Chevy dealer told me was the problem. Their is no power going to the starter. The car will start if I jump start it through the starter but wll only stay on about 3 seconds then shuts off. Any other suggestions?
My Monte Carlo used to do the same thing, I could eventually get it to go by jumping it over with a screwdriver. Then I bypassed the VATS, and never had another problem. h
If it stays lit, then its your vats malfunctioning. You can either spend about $500 for the dealer to fix it or bypass it. There are many utube how to's if you dont like the one I posted. h

Ok guys! I have a key that reads 9.50 resistance, I have resistors with a total of 9.37, I cut the orange wire exposed the two white wires and connected the resistors to the clip. I connected the clip to the other side, turned the key to the on postion, waited for the security light to go off but it never did. Tried to crank the car over but as you might of imaged, it didn't. Am I'm I doing something wrong or could it be something else. t
Did you hook it to the right side? It needs to be hooked to the side that goes under the dash, not the one that goes up to the key. If the light is still solid, then its not hooked up right. Your "security" light should be flashing if its right. 9.37 should be perfect BTW. h
I'm interested to know if this works. I'm experiencing a similar issue. I was driving to work and after a turn my car would start to bog out when I gave it gas. I was able to make it to work but after work when I tried to start it again. I wasn't able to start my car and haven't been since. It won't turn over when I try and my security light always blinks. But I'm thinking my car might already be bypassed and I knocked it loose while driving. would that be a possibility?

If your light is blinking its something else. Blinking is good! Its when its solid, then you are in a security shutdown situation. Watch the utube vid in post 3.
What year is your car? You really should start a new thread for your question. Some people get offended when there thread turns into someone elses. h
It is hooked up to the right side. I hooked it up just like it shows on the video at the 7:10 point. The security light does flash when I put the key back in the off position but not in the on position
If it stays lit then its still in shut down mode. Now what you have done up to this point is to by-pass the ignition part of the vat system. Unfortunately it didnt work. Now I know there are threads here about by-passing the CCM, which I believe completely removes your vats. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...-starting.html
Option # 2 is to replace your vats module, which depending on your comfort level, may be the way to go. Just remember to get one with the same key resistance, or youll have to redu what you just did. h
Doesn't have a standalone VAT module; VATS is integrated in the CCM
The VATS bypass you outlined above doesn't always work for CCM cars because the VATS module has to see the key resistance change when the key is turned on ;
not just be a fixed resistance you get when resistors are installed
If the problem not fixable , two choices.
Have VATS deleted in the tune
or buy the fuel enable signal generator to supply the correct signal to the PCM
Both method require physically bypassing the starter enable relay
There is a $15 VAts BYPASS available. All yr C4 early vats or later with late model vats trhat have the 60hz signal....anyway, 15 bucks, easy to install and you fixed.
