Well just replaced the intake gasket and valve cover gaskets after finding an oil leak on the back of the manifold. Went to start the car and now she won't start just cranks over. Have good fuel pressure. Checked the coil and not seeing any spark. I'm going to replace the coil first, because of the cost. The wiring around the coil doesn't look to be in the best shape,so I was thinking of checking for a broken wire. The car was running okay before. Not sure whatelse to check?
First make sure you have everything plugged in the right place. Double check for any connectors hanging loose. Also make sure your opti harness is plugged in nice and snug, on both ends. Check you coil wire on both sides too. Not saying anything about your capabilities, but there are alot of connections around that coil and TB. It's easy to miss something.
Well got home and replaced the coil. Still didn't want to start. I started inspecing the wires and connectors that go to the coil and ICM I had my better half trying to start while I moved the wires. Well it seems that I have an intermittent problem with the coil plug and the ICM plug because the car started. So I'm going to get replacement pigtail for both the coil and ICM. Looks like I'm going be dealing with some electrical gremlins with this car,but can't complain got a good deal on the car. Oh by the way (lt4obsesses) thanks for reply and no offense taken.I can use all the help that I can get.
Old wires. Just replaced my opti pigtail not too long ago. Seems some coolant had gotten in there at some point and started in on the connector. Anyway, glad you found it.
