Default HPP+ On/Off Temps.

I bought a used Hypertech Power Programmer Plus off of ebay and it did not come with a manual. Does anyone know the fan on/off temperatures for the 160* and 180* settings?

I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head, but I want to say 175F on and 160F off...

I'm running the stock thermo in my 96 and told the HPP+ that I have a 160F thermo... The fans actually come on about 2 minutes or so at idle before the thermostat even opens...

It keeps the temp gauge rock steady at 190F on the digital read out winter or summer...

I believe that is right... I'm running the stock thermostat as well I programmed my fans for 182 , depending on the temp which lately has been in the hundreds, I'm running about 197. Which is still a farcry from the scarey stock 230 degrees.

When I had an hpp+ with the 160 and the fans programmed it seemed to run a rock solid 180 degrees..

It's been a while but I think the HPP programming for the 160 thermo turns both fans on at 185 and off at 180. If you are interested I can scan the manual and e-mail it to you tomorrow (6/19).

Well, it has been a while. HPP programs the fans for the 180 thermo 213 on / 205 off. For the 160 thermo 192 on / 185 off.

You may want to give Hypertech a call and see if they will send you a manual. A few years ago I bought a Hypertech (original model) used from another person and called Hypertech to ask a question. When the guy learned that I had the older model, he told me to send it to them for the newer "plus" model. They did this at NO CHARGE--kudos to them.

Mike (Corf), I would really appreciate it if you would email me the Hypertech manual.

Thank You

Hey guys, other than the fan running constantly would there be any other problems with me leaving in the 180* stat and running the 160* program. I would only run this for the summer and most of my trips are less than 20 miles. I don't want to run the 160* in the winter and I am to lazy to change thermostats seasonally.

I would say it won't pose a problem, the fans will run and it just won't get quite as cool, but yes very few months changing the thermostat would get old...

And actually the fans wont run all the time... Only when you're stopped or driving at less than 40mph... At higher speeds the fans are shut off by the PCM because they start to actually impede air flow at higher speeds...

I you guys don't want to change thermostats, you can spare the expense of the HPP3 and just turn on the a/c. The fans come on automatically when the a/c is on via the a/c pressure switch.........
