Default Exhaust system questions

Hello. Its nearing the time where it will be warm enough and not wet to work on the vette outside and i am curious about what I could do for my exhaust system that would fit my 93' c4 vette. I have ideas after research but I'm not so sure about it and I'm curious if there is better options which I'm sure there is.

OK well for the whole system I was thinking of getting some hooker headers 2151 from summit racing. Then from those I was going to buy a y-pipe if I could do that instead of the 2 in 2 out configuration. Unless there's a better option. I was going to use a single random technology high flow cat if I get the y-pipe if that's possible or get 2 of those cats then connect the exhaust pipes somewhere before the mufflers. Which I was planning on getting something square like stock but notsure yet. Looking for an aggressive sound. Also, does the exhaust system need a built in air tube and o2 sensor bungs? Are those things that the c4 uses? Thank you

This is what I did on mine for a more agressive tone without it being obnoxiously loud and no drone. I did not do headers as I was not looking to get more power. I think that in order to get full benefit of headers, there need to be more motor work done, and I am not comfortable tearing into a 35000 mile engine just yet, lol.

Yeah, that's awesome that you have barely any miles on it. Mine has 55k on it. That sounds pretty beast. Wish i could hear the WOT on that.

I am looking to gain power on my vette so i am trying to find a matching header system, and after doing some recent deeper research i found some things that say i shouldn't go with those hooker headers and get some other headers. I see stainless works has a whole exhaust system kit but it comes at the hefty price of over $2000 which i think is ridiculous. So i'm kind of looking to combine a set of headers and beyond. I did find an exhaust system i liked and it's the cheapest location i have found this so far. I like the way this sounds and it looks like it fits all the way up to the headers if they aren't shorties. I think i read somewhere that it's a huge pain to fit long tubes so there's really only medium ones for sale for the vette, at least that's all i find.

In any case i found these:

And thanks to you i am now considering the allen set up. Haha. I am quite uneducated about cars, though i am trying hard to learn and understand.

And yeah i know i wouldn't get he full benefit out of them until i've done like a cam and a port and polish, and thats probably as far as i would take engine work, however thats for next year i guess. I just got this car and haven't begun to work on it yet so i wanted to drive it with some modifications and a computer chip tune and see if i'm ok with the increase. I did drive it for a bit and it's just not fast to me.

Headers are a fine upgrade that will support larger upgrades in the future.I would retain all emissions on the car.Modern hi flow cats are not going to cost you any hp and will help it not be a stinky pig.
The factory pipe is more than adequate.I might suggest a magnaflow axle back and replacing the factory resonator with an x-pipe or resonator of your choice.Even the stock resonator may help eliminate drone with headers/mufflers.
I would look to stainless works or ARH for quality headers and even OBX as a budget alternative.

Oh i definitely need to retain all of the emissions on the car as i live in NY. I believe NY has the 2nd strictest emissions tests. As for the high flow cat i was going to go with:

http://www.randomtechnology.com/chevrolet.html

I believe i would need 2 cat's though if i were to make this happen?

I know stainless works is expensive and ARH is too, i do want to get some great headers though but for the price it seems pretty ridiculous. It seems like i should just go with those hooker2151 headers for less than half the price for a loss of performance. As for OBX, i did find some here:

http://www.obxracingsports.com/products.php?pk=1710

And the OBX actually fall into a cheaper catergy and look exactly like the other headers just cheaper. This would total about 1400, unless i'm missing something else that i would need to complete the exhaust system. I would love to know if i am missing a pipe from the collector to the exhaust or if those magnaflow's go to that or if i need another connection or something.
