Car will not crank.
C4 automatic was working/starting fine Saturday. Yesterday morning when out to go to church, car would not crank. Have juice for lights, radio, etc just will not crank. I jiggled the shift lever and ignition switch, nothing. Turn key on and everything seems to go dead. Hung the charger (10amps) for a few hours, tried again and it worked. This morning, it started up fine, volt meter showed about 16+. Made one stop, car started again no problem. Made another stop 5 minutes later after about 15 minutes, I wamted to leave but car would not crank...just seemed to go dead. Called a tow truck...just as I was finishing with the call, I tried to start it one more time...it started. Took car to friend's oil change/minor repair shop. Battery, alternator, starter all checke out fine.
I am certain it will not start again at a most importune time...any suggestions all you C4 gurus?

what year car? If it's an '86 or newer you have VATS, which is an anti theft system. it is very common for it to act up with age. when you are trying to start the car and it doesn't start is the engine turning over at all? or do you get a click sound or is there nothing at all?
