To anybody out there using the LT4 "HOT" cam in a ZZ4 or LT1 (I am going to post this in the C3 forum as well), how are this cam's street maners? I am putting this cam in a Gen II LT1 that has been converted to carb (didn't come with the injection manifold or harness) and wanted to know what it's manners are. I also have two other cams I could put in the engine as well as the stock LT1 cam. The car is my 71 L-48 auto with 3.08 gears and A/C. This will be the wifes car, but I still want it to smoke. She is an X mustang owner and I want to make sure she has a decent amount of power! Here are the specs on the two other cams:
Comp Cams Magnum 270HR
215/215 dur.@.050" .500/.500" lift with 110lsa
Ultradyne Hydro roller
210/218 dur.@.050" .492/.492" lift with 110lsa
LT4 "HOT" cam
218/228 dur.@.050" .525/.525" lift with 112lsa
The LT4 Hot cam makes more power than the other two but the Ultradyne makes the most torque. If I use the LT4 cam, what torque converter stall should I use? I was thinking about 2000-2400. Well, let me know. Thanks!
