Is usual to remove the fitting altogether and plug the hole in the end of the fuel rail

What are you doing about cold start fueling with the injector gone?

probably he means what is your strategy for cold start engine since without the 9th injectors you have a rough hard start.Do you upgrade 165 ECM and arap.bin 89? Since 89 the cold start was deleted and start up enrichment was changed in the bin. to add more fuel during start up if coolant temp is < than...

I did these mods on my 86 Convertible, here's what you need to do....
- remove the fuel line from the fuel rail to the 9th inj.
- plug the fuel line hole in the fuel rail
- plug the injector hole
*if using the round plug with no bolt place it in a freezer for several hours then run it out and insert it into the inj hole and hammer it in with the beveled side down while it's still as cold as possible. the medal will expand as it warms and will seal the hole.
- install the new injectors
* while you have the top half of the engine scraped off tighten all the bolts for the air intake manifold per the manual also a good time to replace the EGR valve and fuel pressure regulator.
- Contact PCMForLess.com to get a custom built performance chip for your car, I think it's like $100 have them delete the 9th injector.

Call it done, on mine when the car has been sitting over night the first start up will sputter at 400 RPMs I just give it a tap on the gas and it's happy from there on and warms up at 1200 RPMs before dropping back to 800 RPMs.

These mode made crazy performance changes for my car and well worth the money/time
