I've acquired my late husbands 94 Corvette. I drive it regularly and lately the engine quits while driving and no lights come on. I've had it tested for codes and no codes show up. I've replaced the fuel filter and alternator (what mechanic suggested) and it still is dying on me while driving. It's very unnerving not knowing if you're going to make it through the intersection or not, so I stopped driving it. Has anyone had this type of problem with their C4?
Welcome to the "club". Sorry to read of your husbands passing.
Corvettes are tricky beasts to trouble shoot because they don't always shoot a code. If you are not a motorhead and don't know how to track down a problem, I would suggest that you join a local Corvette club. Odds are good you'll find an A1 garage that is local and trusted by the club that can work/service your 94' You don't want Joe greese-jockey wrenching on your Vette when he can't find the problem.
You also don't want to throw $$$$ at the issue, it will become costly really fast
As for the trouble, I'm sure someone in here can point you in the right direction.
Good luck
Still have the problem but my friend called and said the same thing happened to her dad recently although he doesn't have a corvette but the problem was a Idle Control Valve. Does anyone know where I can take my vette to a mechanic that won't take me to the cleaners? I'm in Southern California (Ontario area). Any information would be greatly appreciated. I googled the part and it's only a $30 part. I just don't know if I would be able to do it myself or take it somewhere.
The IAC (Idle Air control) would not cause your engine to stop running while driving, since it's only an idle circuit. I would ask your mechanic to check the Ignition Module. Another possible cause could be the ECM (engine computer). That is what caused the intermittent stalling on my 92 (no codes). You can get the ECM rebuilt if that is the issue.

I disagree. It can cause the engine to stall at idle if it's bad.
Easterbunny - how many miles on the car? Did it sit for a long time? Do you know if the fuel injectors were ever replaced? The original injectors don't deal well (at all) with the ethanol that CA gas has and it can cause a lot of problems - although probably not stalling.
I would post a thread titled something like "need diagnostic help in Upland, CA area". There are certainly enough SoCal member on the board that someone should be able to assist.
My 94 vette stalls when driving, sitting at a light, just whenever. I was recently told it may be an idle control valve but I'm getting mixed responses.
Does anyone know of someone that works on vettes in the Inland Empire area?

Sorry for your loss.
I'm guessing that by "no lights" you mean the SES or check engine light, or do you mean the electronics stop working?
If it only happens while driving, and if when the car is warm, or at normal temps, my first guess would the the ignition control module.
